Los Angeles Blade Calls on Its Readers to Vote For Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara For Re-election

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Ricardo Lara for Insurance Commissioner Campaign is proud to announce an endorsement from the Los Angeles Blade, Southern California’s LGBTQ news source.

“The election cycle this year nationwide takes on graver meaning for the LGBTQ+ community as trans rights are under attack, numerous jurisdictions are attempting to ban LGBTQ+ themed books and in classrooms several states have passed ‘Don’t Say Gay’ laws with other states considering following that path. LGBTQ+ Californians need to be on guard against political encroachment that would potentially remove protections against loss of those hard fought rights.”

Lara has served as California Insurance Commissioner since 2018. He is the first LGBTQ person elected to statewide office ever in California history and the first Latino Insurance Commissioner.

The Los Angeles Blade joins LGBTQ Victory Fund, Equality California, the California Democratic Party, and an extensive coalition of activists, organizations, and Democratic leaders from across the state supporting the Insurance Commissioner’s re-election campaign.
